2023 Summer Exhibition: Counting the Seconds Between Lightning and Thunder
Every Saturday and Sunday this summer, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Wassaic Project will be showing their Summer Art Exhibition! This exhibition features 40 artists throughout seven floors of Maxon Mills, showcasing a variety of sculptures, paintings, and drawings.  

Starr Summer Stage presents Nutty Scientists Hudson Valley’s Castaways!

Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars
Only on Saturday July 15th or Sunday July 16th at 7:00 PM, The Moviehouse will be presenting Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars! One of the most iconic performances in the history of modern music, David Bowie’s retirement of his Ziggy Stardust alter ego in front of 5,000 fans at London’s Hammersmith Odeon was captured on film by award-winning director D.A. Pennebaker on July 3, 1973. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of this event, the original, uncut version of the film has been restored in 4K and with a 5.1 theatrical mix and will feature never-before-seen performances with legendary guitar player Jeff Beck. This is the closest audiences will come to being there on that unforgettable night 50 years ago.

On Saturday, July 15th at 7:30 PM, Wethersfield Estate & Garden will be hosting an extraordinary evening with The Knights. Musicians from the New York-based orchestra, renowned for its innovative interpretations, will be returning to Wethersfield with a new series. The Knights will weave together a tapestry of pieces inspired by birds and flight. From soaring melodies that emulate the ethereal nature of a thrush’s song and the grace of a swallow’s flight, to whimsical compositions that evoke the playful flutters of butterflies, their repertoire promises to evoke a range of emotions and excite your imagination.

Come by the Stissing Center on Sunday, July 16th at 6:00 PM for an evening of theatre reading! Dinner with Friends is the winner of the 2000 Pultizer Prize for Drama, following two couples and their relationships. Doors open at 5:00 PM, so come by for a chance to see Brenny Campbell, Ann Osmond, Brett Owen, Michael Rhodes, and Steven Young in action!

Musicians from the Knights at Wethersfield: A Concert for Children
Wethersfield invites families to join them on July 16th for a captivating orchestra performance by musicians from The Knights at Wethersfield Estate & Garden. The Knights have prepared a special performance just for children and families. The afternoon performance will offer an opportunity for young hearts to become one with the orchestra and create their own magical moments. Children are encouraged to get up and move to the music, to ask questions, and to meet the musicians.

On Friday June 30th from 5:00pm-8:00 PM, Millbrook Winery invites all to kick off the start of their weekend by taking advantage of their beautiful property, sunsets, and family friendly menus from local food trucks. It’s recommended you bring your own chairs and blankets to enjoy the lawn or to try and find a picnic table. There will also be live music from local performers. No reservation is needed but seating is first come first serve.

Friday Night Wildflower Walk
Join the Dutchess Land Conservancy and Audubon New York on Friday June 30th from 6:30-8:30 PM for a 2-mile wildflower walk around the preserve. Enjoy the beautiful nature while learning about wildflowers and native plants as well as how to catalog species and record and share your observations. It is recommended that visitors bring snacks, water, weather appropriate clothing, and, optionally, a smart device with the apps Seek and iNaturalist downloaded. Admission is free.

Animals After Hours at the Trevor Zoo
On the final Friday of each month during the summer, the Trevor Zoo offers a unique experience to spend a fun summer evening enjoying the animals and eating delicious dinners from local food trucks. Join instructor Olivia for an invigorating yet relaxing practice for all levels! Air Shows at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome
If you’re looking for an action-packed event for your weekend, head over to the Olde Rhinebeck Aerodrome for an air show on Saturday July 1 or Sunday July 2 at 2:00 PM! The Saturday “History of Flight” program highlights the Pioneer Era before World War I and the Golden Age of Aviation in the 1920s and 30s while the Sunday air show is the World War I dog-fight spectacular. The air show full of historic planes will begin at 2:30, but visitors are welcome to sign up for an open-cockpit biplane ride before or after the show. Snacks will be available at noon!

“The Great Italian Auteurs” Series at The Moviehouse

Q-MoB (Queer Men of the Berkshires) Hike: Thompson Pond preserve Hike
On Sunday July 2 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Q-MoB (Queer Men of the Berkshires) will be leading a hike on the Thompson Pond Preserve, a unique kettle hole pond ecosystem with marsh, swamps, and upland forests. Head to the location to enjoy a fun walk and a wondrously diverse array of wildlife. This hike is free and it is suggested that participants bring rain-gear, appropriate footwear, snacks, water, and hiking poles if necessary. Dogs are welcome!
