Beyond a Simple Folk Song was conceived in 2009 to be an annual concert of music that challenges acoustic singer/songwriters and musicians to venture out of their comfort zones and stretch their craft beyond the constructs and scope of a song. So join the annual concert this year and enjoy hearing songs from The Piedmont Bluz, Kurt Henry and Cheryl Lambert, and Kevin Becker. Tickets are $22. 2 pm - 4 pm.

Take advantage of summer sunsets from the Taproom Terrace with a la carte, family-friendly menus from local food trucks. Join the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome as they celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of first responders on August 3rd and 4th! The Saturday "History of Flight" program highlights the Pioneer Era before World War I and the Golden Age of Aviation in the 1920s and 30s. The Sunday airshow is the World War I dog-fight spectacular, with a hero or heroine, the villainous Black Baron of Rhinebeck, scenery, pyrotechnics and a World War I tank, along with many antique automobiles. Gates open at 10 am and the air shows start at 2:30 for both days. Admission is free for all first responders and law enforcement members (and their dogs) with ID!

There will be 100 targets, a shared cart rental for each squad of four shooters, beverages, food from The Cue, cigars, and a variety of vendors present for the after-shoot activities. If you’re looking for some relaxation, make sure to mark your calendar for Gardens for Peace Sound Bath at the Innisfree Garden! Join sound practitioner Ben Brown as he leads participants through the ancient therapeutic practice using sound and deep listening to foster connection and healing. Participants lie down or sit and simply focus on listening to reach a relaxed state, heighten awareness, and elevate the consciousness. No prior experience with meditation or yoga is required. Participants should bring a yoga mat, blanket, or folding chair and water. This gathering is held in honor of the United Nations International Day of Peace as part of the continent-wide Gardens for Peace (G4P) program launched by the North American Japanese Garden Association. You won’t want to miss distinguished author and Vassar College assistant professor Tracy O’Neill as she makes her way to the Hudson Valley! Oblong Books will be hosting the renowned author as she presents her latest and heavily acclaimed memoir titled Woman of Interest. Oprah Daily has called Woman of Interest an “…urgent, atmospheric memoir meets noir about family shadows, writing, and the pursuit of searching for answers we know we might never find.” At Oblong, O’Neill will discuss her experience trailing her birth mother across the globe, the challenges she faced amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic, and the profound revelations she encountered in the process.
