Earth Matters Webinar with Robert Thorson
February 7, 2024

There once may have been 250,000 miles of stone walls in America’s Northeast. These stone walls tell a fascinating story of continental collisions creating lofty mountain chains, glaciers burying the land, the return of soil, and cultivation of the land. Join DLC on Wednesday, February 7 for their next Earth Matters winter webinar in which their host, Robert Thorson, will share the tales of the stones that make up the stone walls of New England and the Northeast.

Robert Thorson is a midwestern native turned northwestern geologist turned northeastern academic. His primary scholarly interest targets the physical relationships between humans and their landscapes, especially the intersections of historical archaeology, humans as geophysical and geochemical agents, environmental history, and American literature.
