Alla Boara seeks to bring recognition and new life to Italy’s diverse history of regional folk music. With modern arrangements variously surprising, playful,  mournful, tender, and bewitching, Alla Boara’s dynamic songs move audiences of all ethnic heritages to treasure their musical roots and consider historical songs’  contemporary cultural relevance.  

“This is not what you might be expecting” said Stissing Center for Arts and Culture Executive Director. “This is an exceptional group of musicians who celebrate the rich musical traditions of Italian music by bringing their modern-day understandings to it!   Think of an artist today recreating the Mona Lisa…you could easily see it was the Mona Lisa, but maybe the colors were different; maybe it was created out of different materials; maybe it was digital, maybe, maybe, maybe!   The possibilities are so incredibly exciting!  This is exactly what this incredible group of musicians do…honor the past by bringing it into the future with renewed energy and a modern viewpoint! You always know WHAT it is, but it appears “new.”
