Walls of deftly sheared yew and arborvitae rise to the skies, pillows of clipped topiary flow one into the next, tunnels of beech arch overhead while fuchsia baskets shower their blossoms beside a water rill. It’s seriously divine. But to experience Wethersfield as Chauncey Devereaux Stillman—the landscape’s original owner—would prefer, you go through hell first.

The 176th annual Dutchess County Fair is an ideal way to celebrate the end of summer. The fair brings vendors, rides, horse shows, concerts, and more to the Northeast Dutchess County area. The fun-filled week begins on August 23 and continues through 8/28. With all the fair has to offer, it can be overwhelming to navigate. In addition to being actively involved within the community on various levels, including the Stanfordville Recreation Campaign, she and her husband are the owners of the Big Rock Market in Stanfordville; a farm market that sells local produce, meats, and delicious treats from local food purveyors.
