Timelessness February 17 – March 30, 2024
Betsy Jacaruso Gallery presents Timelessness, a duo exhibition featuring the works of Hudson Valley painters Marie Cole and Betsy Jacaruso. Known for their ethereal palettes, and dreamy compositions, both artists endeavor to capture feeling and mood in their atmospheric
landscapes.
Marie Cole is a landscape painter based in Germantown. Her works in oil, pastel, and printmaking are inspired by the Hudson River Valley, Catskill Mountains, Cape Cod, and the Delaware Bay. Watercolorist, Betsy Jacaruso, received her BFA with honors from the Pratt
Institute of Art and Design in Brooklyn in 1979. Her current work explores atmosphere and luminosity in landscape weather scenes.
“The timeless in you is aware of life’s timelessness. And knows that yesterday is but today’s memory and tomorrow is today’s dream.” ―Khalil Gibran, The Prophet (1923) The exhibit title is derived from a quote in Khali Gibran’s The Prophet, which explores ideas such as the eternal nature of love and the state of being in a perpetual rhythm of existence.
Opening reception on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 5 pm – 7 pm.
