THINGS TO DO
Events, gatherings, & outings: What to see and do in Dutchess County, NY.

Locations throughout New York City and the Hudson Valley
Each year on the first Saturday in May, more than 2,500 volunteers come together across hundreds of miles of shoreline in New York City and the Hudson Valley for a day of service for the Hudson River. Volunteers clean up tons of trash, plant trees, and remove invasive plant species. Come out and clean your local shoreline during this annual day of service for the Hudson! Advance registration is required. Read more about the project and our locations across the Hudson Valley and NYC by visiting Riverkeeper.org/sweep
Over the last 13 years of Sweep, with your help we have completed 1,349 service projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers across NYC and the Hudson Valley to clean up 382 tons of debris, and plant or maintain 8,851 native plants. Once-neglected areas have gained year-round stewards, and rivers and creeks are better for it. Volunteers must register in advance. The event stretches from Staten Island to the Adirondacks. Have fun and help take care of the river!
