Bardavon’s 2024-25 Premier Performances Film Series

Bardavon presents Premier Performances, a free film series celebrating legendary stage and screen stars in their most iconic roles. Each screening is preceded by a Happy Hour at 6:30 p.m. with half-price beer, wine, free snacks, and soda, followed by a 7:30 p.m. showtime. Enjoy a special 30-minute pre-show concert by Juan Cardona Jr. on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ, courtesy of NYTOS.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest – A Hollywood Classic

Milos Forman’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest remains a landmark of 1970s cinema. Starring Jack Nicholson, Louise Fletcher, and featuring early roles for Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, and Brad Dourif, the film is one of only three to win all five major Academy Awards. A must-see conclusion to Bardavon’s Premier Performances season!

With Chamber Music America, Kaatsbaan presents Ivalas Quartet and their program First Light, featuring works by Osvaldo Golijov, Eleanor Alberga, and Ludvig van Beethoven. First Light brings the listener on a journey through the cosmos with works by composers who muse on the origins of our universe and the experience of existing beyond our world. The program closes with Beethoven’s Opus 130, a piece deemed so timeless that a recording was included in the 1977 Voyager craft as a gift to any otherworldly beings it might encounter. First Light premiered at Carnegie Hall.

The program includes:
Osvaldo Golijov: Tenebrae
Eleanor Alberga: String Quartet No. 1
Ludwig van Beethoven: String Quartet No. 13 in B-flat major, Op. 130
