Composting is one of the keys to reinvigorating soil, and few know more about the subject than Rick Carr, Farm Manager and Master Composter at the Rodale Institute, a research institute leading the way in research into the cultivation of healthy, living soils. Composting in its simplest definition is ‘managed aerobic decomposition’. During the composting process, practitioners recycle organic wastes and convert them into valuable soil amendments for plant production. Composting can be done in your backyard, farm scale, and in large commercial operations with minimal change in management. Finished compost has numerous benefits for plants and the soil. This webinar will review how to compost at different scales, vermicomposting with worms, and the benefits of using compost as a soil amendment.
