In celebration of Pine Plains and our town’s bicentennial, this documentary film features interviews from numerous local farmers about their way of life, as well as on how farming has adapted over time.

This engaging film features interview with John Beadle; Lloyd Vaill Sr. and Amy & Lloyd Vaill, Jr. of Lo-BNan Farm; Rick and Dan Osofsky of Ronnybrook Farm; Barry, Rory and Sarah Chase of Chaseholm Farm; and Ben Prentice.

There will also be a panel discussion after the showing.

The Hammerhead Horns Concert

Sponsored by the Millbrook Arts Group, The Hammerhead Horns will be joined by Chance Bushman, The New Orleans Street Tapper. This concert will be full of ragtime and blues and explore the relationship of the classic American sound to tap dancing. Come join us at the library for a two-hour concert sure to get toes tapping!

Qigong with Cris Caivano

Qigong (“chee-gung”) is a Chinese mind-body exercise system proven to lower blood pressure, build strength, improve balance and flexibility, and transform stress into energy. Its pleasant, easy-to-learn movements are similar to Yoga but more circular and flowing— great for returning mobility to stiff or achy joints.

Movie Night- Hidden Figures

We’re celebrating Black History Month with two award-winning movies. The second is Hidden Figures, a moving film about three extraordinary Black women who worked at NASA during the Space Race. Starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae, it is a heartwarming and eye-opening film.

Craft Time: Make Your Own Book!

Each week children are invited to make a fun, simple craft! Please register if you are coming- it is helpful to know how many materials to have ready. Please note, these crafts are not take-home kits and will be completed in the library. For preschool age and up.

Opera Club – Faust

Join us for the second meeting of Millbrook’s Opera Club led by enthusiast Peter Morrell. We will be watching the classic opera, Faust by Charles Gounod with a libretto by Michael Carre and Jules Barbier.

Grumbling Gryphons Traveling Children’s Theater: “The Myth of Persephone”

Millbrook Library and Millbrook Arts Group are pleased to present Grumbling Gryphons Traveling Children’s Theater in an interactive presentation of “The Myth of Persephone: The Greek Myth of How The Seasons Came to Be,” incorporating music, movement, Greek mythology, American Sign Language and interactive theater for children and families.

Adams Fairacre Farms Garden Show

Each year in late winter, the Adams Landscaping crews design and install an amazing backdrop of patios, ponds and walkways for hundreds of flowering spring bulbs, annuals, trees and shrubs. Vendors, knowledgeable staff and garden experts from throughout the region will be on hand to answer all your questions. The Garden Show is free to attend and also includes seminars, giveaways and free raffles. The Garden Show is open during store hours (7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday).
