Autumn brings sweater weather, and in the Hudson Valley those sweaters are usually handmade (often with wool from sheep who live nearby). This is a region that celebrates small-batch creativity in what we wear and eat, and how we decorate our homes.
Finding artisanal work used to require trips to far-flung artisan markets and craft sales (and sifting through some unfortunate finds before stumbling on a perfect treasure).
Then along came Field + Supply in 2014, the chic maker market held each spring and fall at Hutton Brickyards in Kingston. The markets have become a mecca for those in search of everything from salts and soaps, to tender leather goods, to high-touch/low-tech household decor.
Their 10th anniversary Fall MRKT will be October 11 to 13, with 275 vendors as well as workshops in everything from making bracelets to doing reiki on dogs, and live music on all three days—fieldandsupply.com
