Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College Announces Programming for their 38th season

“Vassar’s role in shaping the history of American theater cannot be overstated. Each summer, the Powerhouse Theater Season adds to that history by welcoming such talented artists and students, along with our discerning Hudson Valley audiences,” said Vassar College President Elizabeth H.Bradley.

Musical Workshops:

Absolute Zero:
July 12-14. Musical thriller reimagines spy genre with humor, feminism, and diverse cast. Developed with industry acclaim.

Shanghai Sonatas: 
July 26-28. Amid WWII chaos, a violinist mentors a troubled teen in Shanghai’s refugee ghetto, forging hope and resilience.

Play Workshops:

A Simple Herstory: 
July 5-7 explores 100+ women presidential candidates, previously featuring Victoria Woodhull and Margaret Chase Smith, challenging historical and cultural perceptions.

Messy White Gays
(July 19-21): Brecken and Caden murder their throuple-mate before brunch with friends, leading to chaotic hilarity.
