Born in Ecuador, Stephania Quartararo has been living in Millbrook for 11 years with her husband Paul and their two children Hudson and Auraliza. She co-chairs the breast cancer event Play for Pink Millbrook. Quartararo loves all things fashion and designs and sells custom-made handbags and hats through her brand Qute by Stephania Quartararo. “We find Millbrook to be so magical.  It’s such a wonderful community to live in and raise a family. We love its historical architecture, beautiful countryside, and of course all the local dining options and shops that we are so fortunate to have!” Stephania shares some of her favorite things about living in Millbrook:

Some places I love to visit in our area:

I love shopping at Orvis Sandanona in Millbrook. They have fabulous clothing for men and women. If you like the outdoors, they have everything you need.

Anthony Todd Home is wonderful if you are looking for a chic and special gift. They have some beautiful items throughout the store. I love their variety of bud vases, handblown hurricanes, and locally made ceramics.

The Millbrook Inn has an amazing brunch on Sundays. You must try the Sunday salmon and the chicken, biscuits, and gravy. And while you are there, please have a triple heat Bloody Mary!

Le Petit Bistro in Rhinebeck is a classy French restaurant that has been there for 20 years. Sit by the Oyster Bar or in the cozy dining area where you feel like you are in a café in Paris. The crispy fried oysters and escargot are my go-to for appetizers and the pork schnitzel and seared scallops are delicious.

Every Thursday night you can find me in Barbaro dining on their amazing lobster pasta and the caprina pizza with fig spread, goat cheese, pear, arugula and truffle oil. If you like cocktails, the Burnt Venetian is the perfect drink for the winter season.

Tamarack definitely is one of my favorite places to enjoy the outdoors in the winter. You can go clay shooting and then warm up by the fire with a bowl of their amazing winter vegetable soup. This private club offers many outdoor fun activities.

The Millbrook Winery is always a great way to spend a winter afternoon. They serve delicious soups in the tap room by the fireplace. I personally love the chili. You must try a glass of their Hunt Country red.

One of my new favorite places is the recently opened Bennett Park. It’s a beautiful place to take a stroll on the walking paths. It’s a great outdoor option for kids and a truly wonderful addition to Millbrook.

One of my favorite hikes is the Beacon Overlook in Beacon NY. It’s beautiful! You can see the Hudson River and enjoy spectacular views. After the hike, we head over to Main Street where you’ll find art galleries, clothing stores, unique shops, and restaurants. While I am in Beacon I always make sure I stop at my favorite Mexican restaurant—Maya Café—and have my usual chicken fajitas and the sangria margarita. Make sure to also stop at Glazed Over Donuts for some freshly made donuts with a great selection of toppings. My favorite is the  marshmallows with maple syrup!
