The Steven Myron Holl Foundation’s Archive Gallery at ‘T’ Space in Rhinebeck will present Threads, an immersive, site-responsive exhibition by artist Anne Lindberg and poet H. L. Hix. Created specifically for the light-filled gallery designed by architect Steven Holl, the installation explores the intersection of visual art, poetry, architecture, and perception.
Drawing on more than three decades of artistic dialogue and collaboration, Lindberg and Hix have created an environment that transforms with the changing light throughout the day. Lindberg’s sculptural installation is composed of thousands of taut threads stretched across the gallery, forming ethereal clouds of color that visitors can walk beneath and around. Hix’s luminous poetic text, installed throughout the space, reflects and gathers light while inviting quiet contemplation.
Together, the artists respond to the architecture itself, allowing shifting light and shadow to animate both the suspended threads and the written word. The result is an immersive experience where color, language, and space continually interact, encouraging visitors to slow down and observe their surroundings in new ways. The exhibition is presented by the Steven Myron Holl Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing architecture, art, poetry, and ecological thought through exhibitions, education, research, and public programming. Located on a 30-acre campus in Rhinebeck, the Foundation brings together architecture, landscape, and contemporary artistic practice in a setting designed for reflection, experimentation, and interdisciplinary exchange.
Threads will be open to the public on Sunday, September 6.
